Kastelaz
For many years Kastelaz, the renowned vineyard in southerly lying Tramin, has been home to a number of very unusually famous wines. The warm location was already a popular vineyard in ancient times: findings of small containers dating from the Bronze age are a testament to the early cultivation of the sunny slopes, likewise the medieval castle „Castelaccio“ from which today’s Kastelaz gets its name, as well as Tramin which is itself mentor to the Gewürztraminer variety.
Our Merlot reserve grows among others in this sunkissed location and the wines are a real delicacy pairing elegance with strength and great flavour.
